Energy Efficiency Engineer

Provide technical support to energy efficiency and decarbonization programs by utilities and agencies in the Pacific Northwest.

About the Role: Lattice Energy Works is seeking an experienced energy efficiency engineer to assess energy use and potential savings for commercial, industrial, and residential facilities by collecting field data, developing custom engineering calculations, and modeling energy performance with simulation software. This full-time position provides opportunities for advancement and steadily increasing responsibility. Applicants must be currently authorized to work full-time in the United States.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess energy use, GHG emissions, and potential savings using rigorous analytical and measurement techniques in commercial, industrial, and residential facilities
  • Collect customer data through on-site and remote observations, interviews, and metering
  • Develop and review custom engineering calculations to evaluate energy use and savings
  • Set up and run building simulations to model building energy performance
  • Work efficiently and collaboratively with Lattice managers and project teams

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • At least five years of professional work experience in an energy or building science field with at least a B.S. degree in a relevant scientific or engineering discipline
  • Demonstrated competence in analyzing energy use in complex systems
  • Excellent writing, computer, oral communication, and team skills

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Energy auditing per ASHRAE Level 2, including field experience in commercial, industrial, residential facilities
  • Experience with building simulation software, such as eQUEST, EnergyPlus, and TRACE 3D Plus
  • Statistical analysis skills, such as regression modeling or IPMVP Option C
  • Data processing, analysis, and associated coding skills, preferably with R or Python
  • MEP cost estimating
  • Licensed professional engineer

Compensation and Benefits

Compensation Package

  • Base Salary: $100,000–$125,000 annually, depending on relevant experience
  • Annual bonus tied to corporate financial performance

Work Location and Travel

  • Base Location: Western Washington preferred. Other locations in the Pacific Northwest could work as well.
  • Remote/Hybrid: Flexible working arrangements, including an office at our Bellevue, WA headquarters.
  • Travel: Periodic travel in Washington and possibly other parts of the Pacific Northwest for customer site visits
